This old water tank was covered in graffiti before
Tony Mead took on this community mural project
for the Art & Industry Festival. It was painted
during one of Melbourne’s many lockdowns
and Tony had to work alone, while also videoing
himself. There’s a short film about the project on
the Better Letters Vimeo group linked from the
home page of bl.ag online.

noticed the similarities between the B here
and the BLAG logotype they designed.

Nuevo Perú
PERU
To celebrate Peruvian independence day on
28 July, the team at Carga Máxima in Lima
produced this piece, which translates as
“People’s Republic of New Peru”. It includes
a mixture of local lettering styles including
Cachito (Little Horn) for the word “Nuevo”
and Hueso (Bone) for “Perú”.
