Flowers
The flowers of Fileteado Porteño are created
using combinations of Bolitas, with the petals
using the concave variant.
Four Petals
Make a circle and divide it with a cross, like an
X, to create the four equal spaces to draw the
petals. Two colours are used for the flat layer:
a lighter tone for the petals and a darker one
for the central circle.
The petals are painted like concave bolitas,
and the centre is painted convex. The two tones
of the shades and the drop shadow are done
with Yapan and the lights are done using lighter
tones. Highlights can be done with white, ivory,
and sometimes a touch of yellow.
Five Petals
Make a circle and divide it in five equal parts to
draw the petals. On this flower, the petals have
two lobes, resembling a heart shape. Again we
use two colours for the flat layer: lighter for the
petals, darker for the centre.
Petals are painted like concave bolitas, and
the centre like a pearl. The shades, lights and
highlights then use the same tones as the fourpetal flower but applied as a pearl for the centre.
